So, What Do YOU Think of the New Zecco Trading Center?

This week we reached a major milestone at Zecco. After a Herculean development effort, we completed the upgrade of all Zecco Trading customers to the new Trading Center.

I’m so proud of our team and the great work they are doing. Our goal is to make Zecco the best value in online investing by improving every aspect of our offering. The new Trading Center is a huge step in that direction, giving you the things you’ve asked for most, like extended hours trading, conditional orders and pre-configured options strategy trading.

Have you checked it out yet? The new interface puts real-time quotes, charts, balances and a trade ticket all on a single page. The trading platform is now much more powerful, and designed to help you make more informed investing decisions and act on them quickly.

We now also support a much broader range of order types – so you can get an edge in the most volatile market I have ever seen. Features like trailing stops and bracket orders are not just for professionals anymore. Zecco is giving them to everyone.

For the options traders out there, the new pre-configured options strategy ticket makes orders much faster to build and enter. Just insert a symbol and choose from a range of strategies. Options chains show you how different strike prices compare and the Options Analyzer tool lets you see the potential profit and loss graph for the position you’re taking.

And unlike some firms, that have a separate trading platform reserved for hyper-active traders who do hundreds of trades a month, we’re making these advanced capabilities available to each and every customer.

Anyway, that’s my story. Now that all of you can enjoy the many benefits of the new Trading Center I have a question for you: What do YOU think of it?

We would love to hear about your first experience, so we can continue to make Zecco the world-class solution to your investing needs. Please provide your feedback in the designated Trading Center Feedback section.

And before I forget, we’re not done rolling out great new stuff just yet. The Zecco team is already cranking on a new version of Zecco Mobile for both Android and iPhone, including the ability to trade stocks, options, and mutual funds. Stay tuned for details on the release schedule.

satisfied with the new platform. nice layout, modern and more features
waiting for the upgrade of the mobile app to trade stocks on my iphone

Looks very eye-catching and easy to get around in. However, I have not noticed any way to have multiple watch lists. Some trading sites call them profolios. If they are there, I can not find them.

I liked it until today, when I can’t place sell orders because it says I don’t own that security :(

I was a beta tester, and had many problems, mostly with average price after selling shares of a position.  Also had a margin call with over 75% cash in my account.  I assumed that these problems would have been fixed prior to going live.  Customer service says all problems are fixed.  I told them they were blowing smoke at them.  Today all my positions dissappeared after selling a stock.  This is totally not working.

We are sorry for the issues caused by an incorrect data feed this morning from Penson, Zecco Trading’s clearing firm.

  • Jpolena

How about you quit blaming everything on Pension and show a little accountability. No notification of glitches or issues while we are losing money/opportunity is unacceptable. Even if all glitches were 100% Pension’s fault you are still accountable for not having staff to answer calls/take trades. Quit throwing pension under the bus and get your head out of your ass “editor in chief”.

P.S. – I make over 300 trades per year. You may lose my 2k per year in commission after this idiocy.

I like it! I really like, that all the things I like to see when placing a trade–the spread, my balance, positions, and previous orders–are on a single page.

The after hours session seems to be a little short. What’s up with that? It’s not a big deal, though, as in my experience (with other brokers) most of my extended hours bids or offers inside the spread execute soon before or after regular hours, if at all.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Nixx

I like the new trading center, but it is a step backwards in usability when using it from an Android phone as some of the buttons are not clickable, and the feedback button which is supposed to be in the bottom left of the screen shows up in the middle of the positions list. I know you guys are working on an Android app, but that is no excuse for not testing the main website on Android also. Unless and until you have 100% of the functionality available on the main website also available on the (as yet non-existent) Android app I expect that the main website should work correctly. I currently spend over an hour (commute time) a day using zecco via an Android phone so I would appreciate if your web team could devote a half hour or so to fixing these bugs.

    Bracket order is not working

  • Jmk499

I’m hesitant to make any trades on the new platform.  My average price changed (higher) on all of my stocks and has yet to be fixed!  I already missed a nice opportunity because I refuse to trade with the incorrect information shown on my account.

despite claiming in the FAQ that our watchlists would be transferred to the new platform, mine disappeared. And I didn’t think it was possible, but the new platform is slower than the old one.

Let’s recap, Zecco vs Optionshouse, which of these do you have an advantage in again?
    1. platform (no bugs ever with OH so far)
    2. mobile app for Android (you don’t have one)
    3. stock commissions (a dollar more at Z)
    4. options commissions (WAY more at Z)
    5. charging for maxit tax software vs free at OH
    6. extended hours – finally Z got on board with this one

A far cry from the innovative and market-leading position when I joined Zecco in 2008!

  • Mule2b

Hate the new platform. So many things, I can’t list them all. I want the old platform back.

  • Anil Saisbhan

The blog about the new system having problems with placing trades was closed on Jan 31. Now 1 week+ later, it seems that the problem still has not been resolved. My order was placed since 10am, and has not been executed yet (it’s now 3.20pm) and the price of the shares has gone up considerably. What is going on??!!!

  • Wefqd

the new platform is a epic fail, the platform. GTC orders are droping off after 5 days,

  • Hitslad

Congratulations for rolling out new platform. I have been trying to reach you for past few days. I just want to point out few things new platform is not stable, I have reported few issue I know they have fixed it. Recent account number conversion was poorly managed issue. During this conversion they have reported wrong amount to Gainskeeper. It is difficult to get Zecco represetative on phone or a chat.. I am surprised with this poor service. Still need to discuss with IT deparment or Sr. executive in Zecco before I start considering trading services. Well Good Luck with new roll out.

“Non-Margin Buying Power” should be changed to “Marginable Equity”

  • David

The interface is great – well done.  It’s pretty, no-nonsense, fast to use and seems stable.

A few ideas for further development:  display open “sell” orders (such as trailing stops and the like)  next to the position, rather than in a flat list among the recently executed ones.  Seeing which positions are protected and which ones are not would be much more useful.

Second, allow for orders combining a sell order at a fixed price with one that has a trailing stop. This seems to be impossible right now, even with two separate orders.

  • patrick

I’ve had issues where my account balance didn’t reflect my local running total, even though I have been keeping up with it religiously.  That being said, I spent hours going through customer service, finally getting it escalated to “senior compliance office”.  This was for a very very small discrepancy. I found my experience with him to be less than ideal. Doing a google search for the same individual turned up similar negative experiences. I remember back when Zecco had the other CEO (J.V.), that you could actually interact and share concerns with.  Since I was unable to obtain satisfaction with this particular gentleman and he seemed to be the brick wall you couldnt get past, i have decided to move my balance and begin the process of liquidating my remaining assets here.  I hope in the future for other customers, they have better ways of escalating issues past a stubborn brick wall.  That experience alone has ruined a 5+ year relationship with zecco and ended it.
    Thanks for your time.

Kind of hard to get to it that fast!

Mr CEO, trust me, zecco.com is the worst trading platform i have seen so far. You folks can’t even develop sorting alogrithm right, the very basics of page refresh can’t be handled correctly by your development ..you are really lucky to have a business name even seriously

  • tahir

    Hi all,

    VERY URGENT

The new platform is faster and compact but only slightly advantageous.

    But it has many problems:

      1. MAJOR Problem: the History shows erroneous data for Dividends, Cash Movements and ReInvestments showing zeroes over and over again – where has all my Dividend money gone to ?
I have now sent several eyes and complained to Cust Svces.

I asked for DRIPs but now found fractional shares are purchases.
I have no clue where my Dividend money is going.

      2. eye-balling the Trading screen is an eye-sore, especially with funny colors that cannot be controlled

      3. the heading disappears when paging next, poorly and cheaply designed – unacceptable.
this should be redesigned to be like Excell allowing customers to make their own adjustments

       4. PLS CAN I suggest that you go back to the previous version ?

    Tahir.

I had a similar issues on my account. you should verify that your balance is actually correct and its not just a “software display issue”.  I always assumed my balance was correct and it was just display glitch.  Once I realized otherwise, I contacted customer support and was told I would have to pay $15 an hour (3 hours for my account), in order to get someone to investigate and figure out if it was an issue.  I had no problem with that, but for my $45, I wanted some type of proof that someone actually reconciled my issues and could pinpoint the error, at the very least a spreadsheet where they reconstructed my account and could came up with the balance they were displaying.  no luck, you pay the fee and they pretty much give a thumbs up or thumbs down, kinda like the emperor at the Colosseum.. They very well could just take your $45, go play poker, and say, we didnt see no issue.  I even had the “senior compliance officer” tell me pretty much “we dont see nothing wrong with ur account.  go ahead and pay us to investigate and we’ll give you a yes or no, but dont expect a copy or anything of your researched account”..  Otherwise I was told to go back and purchase back copies of my  statements and do it myself (in addition to paying them $45 to look for me).  All of this was over a $12 discrepancy.  After further research, I came to believe that my balance was off about $25 or $30.  i could not verify it against my account records online because they wiped my 2007 non equity transactions. They offered to comp me 3 trades to make up for my loss, but with the  I’ve decided to swallow my loss and ACAT over to a different brokerage where I dont feel like a 2nd class customer.  Been a zecco member since 2007, and had about $50K balance.. oh well

    Good luck
    Chad

In trasfer status and history, warning: “We are sorry, there is an unknown error occurred. Please wait a few minutes and try again later.”  Its been like this for weeks. Can’t see status of inbound transfers. Frustrating.

Sorry to hear about all of the unhappiness among fellow Zecco users.  I must say that I really like the new trading center and would hate to go back to the previous one.  No problems on my end.  At the same time, I feel bad for users who are having problems.  It is really pretty nice to use if you have not problems.

    Why CRM does not
work at times? You’re walking down a white sandy beach with a friend and find a
buried lamp that appears to be from Persia. Joking around, you rub it and
amazingly, a genie appears overhead. Peering down, the genie offers you three
wishes for your money. What comes to mind? If you’re like me, the first
wish might very well be “more of it,” but after that, what else would you
wish for? When presenting at events or talking to clients, I get all sorts
of answers such as Never lose it, Buy low and sell high. Never pay taxes on it, and Have you read Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now?
Like many philosophers before him, Tolle basically tells us to forget
the mind. When thinking about what’s soon to come, your client’s mind
usually plays tricks and says things like, “why would I do this when my
investments are doing so well?” Or, conversely, “Invest in real
estate? Are you crazy? Well that is what we have. The CRM has
failed, Read all about the fizzy drinks. Read the book by Frederick Newell (WHY
CRM DIES NOT WORK). There is no genuine and we work hard daily but some one always
has to stand on the other side of the coin slowing you down and you need not complain.
This is what I call the poor leadership. I thank you Firozali A.Mulla DBA

The customer Sevice sucks with this company.  I had a wire transfer that was sent to my Zecco Trading accoung Thursday 05/17/2012.  I have been treated like no one cares…. I still do not have my money and apparently there are no supervisors to speak with.  I am going to get an attorney today because I should not have to come to tears on the phone with one of your reps to get my money.

I am so upset I am crying as I type this email. I needed my money within a specific timeframe and… it’s to late.  I still do not have my money and Ihave been told in 30 mins the money will be there and i’ts been another 2 hours.

I am going to file a complaint with every federal office I can find and I am going to request my account be audited.  There is no reason a 1 day transaction should take this long
